Has anyone slipstreamed SP2 RC1 English Version to a Bootable WindowsXP CD DisK?
|

Sure it would be fine though? Do u need help or anything? |

I slipped it, loaded and all seems well
|
Should I slipstream 'Service Pack 2 RC1 Build 2096' with the Original WinXP or should I slipstream it with 'WinXP Service Pack 1' ? Which one is more advisable? Also, how come 'SP2 build 2082' was almost 345mb while 'SP2 RC1 build 2096' is only 273mb?
|
I believe it should be slipstreamed with Windows XP SP1 and on top of that SP2 RC1 release. If I amwrong ask HotROD He aparently has done it already it would be nice if HotROD himself or someone else makes an ISO for all of us so he can send it to a FTP site and we could all D/L it
|
I am finished slipstreaming 'Service Pack 2 RC1 Build 2096' with the original WinXP and everything went off smoothly. I think it is safe to presume that SP2 includes SP1 and therefore slipstreaming with original WinXP should be fine. Atleast in the case of MS Office service packs, this is always the case. If this is not correct in this case then someone please correct me.

Could you let us know if you have a bootable working ISO please Sanjay- and let us know what edition you are using- Home, Pro, Retail, OEM or Corp (From your workplace :D )
Thanks |
Really Don't think if it's done on a clean copy or one already integrated with SP1. Put this together for my dad, maybe someone would like to try it. It boots and loads.
|
Thanks HotRod, will give it a go :D
|
For those who like the MSJVM, I think slipstreaming with Windows XP SP1 (not SP1a) is better.
|
Just read what I wrote, guess not a night to mulitask. Anyway, I don't think it matters what the base CD is. What I wrote is for corp. Would be easy enough to edit the bat files for any version.
|
Installed it . It seems to be faster
|
I have splistreak with a SP1 ... tp SP2 2096. Working great !!
The only one problem i have ... this is my internet speed !! Just browsing over the net and seem very slow!! I have also test my Dl and UP speed .. damn .. i am really slow !! EX: UPload Speed SP1 = 45k/s UPload Speed SP2 RC1 = 22k/s Download.... i didn't have pass the 100 k/s!! Ouuchhhh |
yeah, Alpine, my web speed dropped big time also, so I dumped that stupid "beta service pack"....
Can I ask a stupid question: Why the hell are so many folks interested in slipstreaming a BETA SERVICE PACK into their operating system??? I mean, if it was the actual release of SP2 it would make sense..but doing that to a BETA service pack???? c'mon folks, find something else to do with your time!!! |
Hey mikey, if no one was interested then BetaONE wouldnt be here :P
|
Hey mikey - I share your concern - you would thinkif something were
working well, people would just leave it alone instead of trying to slipstream, tweak , flash etc it. :P :P :P :P :P :P @Alpine - have you checked out Cablenut's little proggie or Speedguide.net's tweaks here is a good place to start _http://forums.speedguide.net/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=54 |
@DOg & @Richard 2000...OUCH!!
well, its one thing to try new ideas, new proggies, new updates, etc, but even an idiot like ME wouldnt bother "slipstreaming" a BETA SERVICE PACK into an OS CD.... Or would I?? |
sorry mikey - couldn't resist - and you forgot changing or trying out new positions :P
As for RC1 -just uninstalled it as AdAware wouldn't load and WS FTP Pro would cut out every 2 minutes and it started to rain here just after I had installed RC1. Now both prgrams work but it is still raining - go figure! |
LMAO, people slipstream them because they can :D
@Richard : I dumped SP2RC1 and did a fresh install of XPSP1 yesterday and it stopped raining. Go figure :D |
Well, its been raining here too the last 3 days, and winter has FINALLY left Chicagoland!!!
Now, if I just had a PC of my own, I would be able to put XP SP-2,RC1, "slipstreamed" on my pc too!!! Maybe THAT would stop the rain??? lmgdfao!!! |
@mikey - let me know when you do and I will check the weather.
@DoG - I guess slipstreaming is like SEX - only important if the others are doing it and you can't. :P Can't help but notice there is an I in slipstream but :crybaby: but no I in SEX. :( |
Hiyah Lads,
I 'm a newbie here, and i 'm gonna but into this $0.02 talk about XP SP2RC1. I installed it yesterday and I am running adaware... no problem... (ADP6 build 181). Only friggin problem i have with the thing is that it doesnt recognise my FSecure AV, tho it is the most recent version (5.4) with signature files that get updated every bloody day... I would love to try to sliptream SP2RC1 in one cd with XP. it it werent i dont have one single disc with a flawless copy of the darned thing anymore... Chris |
Welcome, Maverickloup!
From what I have seen and heard, this wonderful "beta service pack" doesnt recognize most AV programs.. Hopefully, once an actual "release" is made by M$, that bug will be gone... |
I slipped it with XP Pro without SP1 and everything works fine. To my understanding, SP2 contains all the hotfixes as SP1.
Is anyone having networking problems with SP2 RC1? |
Quote:
I didn't have any networking problems with RC1. Windows Firewall was smart enough give access to all my networking settings. Welcome restless311 to BetaONE. :) |
Thanks. I am having a horrible time with the networking since SP2 build 2082. I didn't have any problems with build 2055. Even after a new install on my computers, I still have problem. When I restart the host computer the setting change and the network is down. Windows firewall protection is enabled for the internet and disabled for the network. That is the only way I can get it to work. Any suggestions?
