Hey,
Thought I would share this with you guys. Sure most of you have already seen and done this but if not you will be amassed. Think your computer rocks? Then test it with High Definition Quality with Windows Media Video 9 Professional clips. Download the clips to experience high definition Windows Media Video. To deliver ultra-high quality, these clips were encoded 24 fps, and at the resolution noted of either 1280 x 720 (720p) or 1920 x 1080 (1080p). My system can barley handle 1080p. But it can play. Its awsome. OR if you just want to expereince the next age of High Def. on your computer this is a must. I wonder why my system is slow. :( System Requirements Although other system configurations may be able to playback this content, for an optimal experience we recommend systems of at least a 2.53 GHz Intel or AMD Athlon XP 2200+ or higher processor for 720p and 3.0 GHz or greater processor for 1080p. For either scenario, an AGP4x based NVIDIA or ATI video adapter card with at least 32 MB of RAM and the most recent OEM driver updates are recommended. The 720p sample clips have a data rate of 6884 Kbps and the 1080p samples have a data rate of 8384 Kbps. The higher the data rate, the higher the resource requirement. For optimal playback of 1080p content, an AGP8x 128 MB video card is required. I have a 2200 btw. But clocked at 2.2ghz. So it can at least play. I say at least at least 2600 though. Not sure about p4. Probally 2.8 from what I've heard. Check it out at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...tShowcase.aspx |
I can try it but I have inly a P4 2.0 ghz ;) With 1.5 gig of memory
|
I always wanted to give them a go. What discouraged me was my poor 32 kbps connection. I will add them to by FlashGet job list anyway. Thanks Will.
P.S: Got a P4 3.0 GHz and a Radeon 9600 128 MB video card. Should be able to handle this. |
Lucky you. :(
Will poopie it turns out I can only play one of them at 1080. The t2 preview. :( |
Had no problems running all of them... That is some SWEEEEET video! Sound quality is AMAZING too!

Robotica 1080p |
Coral Reef 720p played well considering I am under the reccommended requirements. No major hiccupps at all. I will try T2 1080p sometime. I have the Extreme Edition DVD with thew whole movie in 1080p...I doubt that it will play well if at all.
Thanks for the link. |
what an awesum site, War..
I am lucky enuf to have a machine that can handle this...wonder if these would play on a dvd player, if you burned them to one..... |
Not sure. Doubt it. Unless your dvd player can play wmv 9.0 pro. encoded files. Think only a few can. Would have to look at micorosoft.com to find out what models. I know there is at least one cause I remember hearing about it. Not only that it can even play divx.

Just want a copy for later when I upgrade my computer again. Next time I do I'm going to make sure I can play all of them. Plus it plays ok as now, sound skips a little. Processor cant keep up. All I need is a new mother board, procssor, and montor. And I'll be good to go. Already got one if not the best damn sound card on the market. I think its the best. :) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. Well that and some 7.1 speakers to go along with it. My 4.1 are good enough for me for now though. Might just buy it if not. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...s=dvd&n=507846 Thanks, Will |
@ War59312 - Get what from me?
@Wase - Even if you could burn it to dvd, had a dvd player that could read WMV, and had it hooked up to an HDTV it still wouldn't matter because even the best dvd players can only output a 480 progressive signal at best. To take advantage of the 1080p signal you could only use good crt computer monitor as even the best HDTV's will accept either a nataive 720p or a 1080interlaced signal. HDTV runs in 1080i and a 1080p signal is the same as a 2160i signal....way to high for any HDTV made... ...although you could get away with hooking up your computer to your HDTV using a video card with a DVI out and viewing in 720p...that's what I am about to do- then to get the sound you would have to out the sound with 5.1 channels (hopefully via an optical or coaxial digital cable) to a good reiever like my Yamaha RX-V1400 and have a good six speaker setup...then you would have some serious viewing pleasure. Any way you can get to watch tose videos is great because they are f'n beautiful on any system that they will play on. Good luck! |
