Let me explain.
I went to the Elecard site, as I had decided to purchase what is reputed to be the best mpeg2 codec around. I made my purchase. After that, I was given my serial number, and a link to download the registerable 2.2 player. What I'm getting is nothing but 404's from that link. And apparently, there is a difference between the shareware version and the one you get when you buy it. Rather than wait for tech support to answer me, and who knows how long that will take, I figured I'd throw out the question here: Is there anyone here who has purchased this that has that install zip file backed up and handy? To reaffirm, I'm NOT asking for a serial number or ANYTHING of that nature............I have my own legitimate number. :) TIA to anyone that can help. |
Seems to be up to me:http://www.moonlight.co.il/down.php
Just login there and the trial version should be listed. Download it and install. Once installing is done it says you need to activate the product. Do so and it asks for your serial number. Enter it and now you have the full version you just payed for. cya, Will |
Thanks Will but that's not it. That leads to the shareware version.

What happens is that when you go to activate the shareware version is that it tells you you have a bad serial. That's why the regable version must be different.

odd... |
I thought it was f'ed up too. And I even tried installing it on a squeaky clean fresh xp os and still no go.
|
Well good luck to you then. Cause I cant find it either.

Another bit if nfo:
When they give you your receipt, the link is entirely different. They also give you a user/pass that's supposed to be active within an hour's time. So my guess is that they just didn't activate my u/p grrrr |
um guess so but i just saw this:
Moonlight-Elecard MPEG Player ver 2.2 includes new version of MPEG Player Application and new version of Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder v 2.2 build 3320. This version is distributed only via registration system and requires activation. Please send your comments concerning registration system to activate@moonlight.com.ru |
I can't believe this inconvinience and trouble one legitimate user is getting.
Hope things go right with you in the next few days with Elecard. Elecard Video Decoder and its MPEG2 Demultiplexer are excellent direct show filters. I have attached a screenshot of my v1.35. You can access those properties from GraphEdit. You might be interested in the following page: Code:

CD-ROMS running on and off to check for CD which makes lag in the games, not to mention wear on your hardware that is not needed. Too much more to mention here. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. The matter has been resolved, and in a professional manner by tech support at Moonlight. :)
And FWIW, the shareware version IS the one you activate with the serial number. I'm just guessing that there was no one there on the weekend to take care of the glitch I experienced. ;) |
Good to hear that belthazor. :)
Enjoy your new Elecard MPEG2 Player and happy encoding if you are doing that. ;) @GSD, has NVDVD got its own MPEG Demultiplexer too? For example: NVDVD MPEG2 Demultiplexer and NVDVD Video Decoder. If so, are they DirectShow filters? That means I can install those filters and test them and compare with Elecard and MainConcept filters. Thanks. |

Hi guys,
I am not going to comment anything about this. You look and feel yourself. It's just funny because it is not one of my home made appz I made. :D Just wanted to show you the screenshot. Hope this will teach them to a lesson. These are not freeware, are they? We are paying for the quality as well, aren't we? Nothing serious...No big deal...and yes of course Performance is the main priority. :) McoreD |
