Hello,

I always receive the message in the exemple attached

After I boot and before I logon :(

And times to time when I'm running windows XP

Close and then uninstall your ZoneAlarm, reboot and see if this still happens..:)

Bads 12th Jan 04 11:43 AM

@roadworker

You think that ZoneAlarm is the problem ?

Why please

roadworker 12th Jan 04 11:57 AM

I think there are probs with the mount/unmount timings of the TrueVerctor engine.....I have fixed a similar issue by my nephew by eleminating startup programs...turned out to be ZA

Bads 12th Jan 04 12:15 PM

But I have this problem when running windows too :(

I dont even use auto protect as its a pos. Use nod32 for that. Scan with both manually. :)

I have remove all the Norton stuff and I still have this problem :(

Dave 25th Jan 04 07:30 PM

It's a Zone Alarm file, but it's not necessarily a ZA problem.

It can be caused by using a tweak or reg hack to reduce the system shutdown time. If the system shuts down too quick it doesn't give ZA enough time to write the temp file back where it belongs.

Do you remember changing the shutdown time to less then the default, or using a setting to "force" the programs to closeon shutdown?

Try to verify it by manually shutting down ZA, wait a minute and reboot to see if you don't get the error.

Thanks Dave,

But I receive this message when I'm working in my computer. Surfing the web or transfering files to another place

Are you running WindowsXP with SP2?

ironleg1963 5th Feb 04 11:30 PM

try to turn off the event log and memory dump in the system properties startup and recovery then settings and take the checks out of everything and change the write debuging informationto none and try that.
or do MSCONFIG and remove startup items and reboot

Or try recovery console and run chkdsk

Have you tried to boot into safe mode to see if you get the same errors?

hope this is what you are looking for.

never have these kind of problems using Sygate firewall, and NOD 32

Bads 20th Feb 04 01:14 PM

I will try that ironleg1963 ;)

Most of the times, this is the "internet log" who was not saved and the problem

Bads 20th Feb 04 05:24 PM

I need to know where can I disable internet log ? Not ZoneAlarm but other logs

DoG 20th Feb 04 06:28 PM

I had the same problem recently- i ended up turning write behind cache off on the affected drive and all ran smoothly. Interestingly enough i re-enabled it a few days later and haven't had the problem since.

Bads 20th Feb 04 06:46 PM

I do this too ;)

My 4 hard drives are installed on a IDE controller card

Sillicon Image IDE-CARD Raid ultra ata 133 with the latest drivers

Stringent 24th Feb 04 02:26 PM

Have you done a scandisk or a defrag recently Bads?

Grzyb 24th Feb 04 04:56 PM

I had the Same Problem Using 2 IDE Controller Cards....With 4 Hard Disks Installed....

In the end I had to remove Two of them from the Controller and Buy another Controller fit the other two....

No more messages since.....It must be a conflict between WindowsXP and IDE Controller which although can have 4 Hard Disks connected, in thery it doesn't work....
