I used to use Get Right, then moved to Flash Get v 1.4. I like it. Now I see raves about Download Accelerator Plus. I tried it, didn't like it. Did I miss something?

What do you guys like and use?

I (only) think is better from FTP-Server download in a manually Folder on the harddisk.

I use reget for http dl' organizing... it also does ftp pretty well too, (VERY good for 56K modem users) the clipboard monitoring feature comes in handy matched with EMEditor's support for live links... makes multiple file dl'ing a snap.

FlashFXP for managing FTP stuffs. I tried getright / flashget but had issues with them both using 56K. With broadband, dl manager's do not seem as needed like back in da day using 56K modems.
edit: thanks 4 da help.

FlashGet is my favourite, but recently I rarely use a download manager. A download manager was invaluable when I had 56k, but now it's paractically unneccessary - I rarely download large (>50MB) files over HTTP, and when I do they are usually from reliable sources which are unlikely to interrupt the transfer.

Flashget all the way. Used to be getright.

richardc2000 10th Jan 04 09:39 PM

I use Flash Get and DAP mainly.Haven't gotten around to reinstalling
GetRight - the other two seems to load faster I suppose.

Raid762 10th Jan 04 10:33 PM

I'm still using getright , but haven't gone beyond version 4.5e
I prefer FlashFXP and then Bulletproof for FTP's.

MonkeyMagic 10th Jan 04 10:52 PM

I use DAP, and I always update to the latest version, haven't looked back! I like the support for resume and the d/l speed acceleration.

I use LeechGet available @ www.leechget.net . It rocks!

robinwilson16 15th Jan 04 07:53 AM

I also use Flashget
Was really handy on 56k and although it's not as necesary with broadband, I still use it sometimes

FlashGet all the way. Love it's Explorer like interface.

war59312 15th Jan 04 09:06 PM

Well I use getright a lot. I download a poopie load. Just pasted 450gb using getright alone for this month. lol 15 days. :)

So I still love my download manager. Its saved me from having to redownload 854gb since I installed it again, which was just over three months ago.

And I download 24/7 almost. Even with sharing my connection with my brother. Its fast enough so dont even notice.

Problem is that I'm running out of cds and hard drive space. Time to get a dvd burner but i'm broke. :(
