Armed with the results of 1.4 million years of computer time,
SETI@home scientists recently traveled to the Arecibo radio observatory
in Puerto Rico for a closer listen to our 155 top "candidates".
Now is a great time to start running SETI@home; you can download
the latest software athttp://setiathome.berkeley.edu/download.html

Seti at Home used to crash my Win98 PC with it's screensaver. I haven't tried it lately in XP. It sure is a worthy cause to donate your extra CPU cycles to! Go Bezerkeley!

I've been running SETI@home for about three years now and I don't plan on stopping now. Over 1000 units completed--pretty good considering that for 95% of that time, I was running the program on my PII 350MHz machine. :D

1 UNIT COMPLETED! WOOOHOOO!
Now, it's about 1/4 done with the second UNIT! OH YA! :D :) :kicking:

Time to kick start this thread again :D

Are any of you members of groups on the seti site?

Just reloaded it, and it still has 65 units that I processed from 2 years ago! Seems OK so far, the screen saver part of it used to kill my PC with 98SE.

Yes, you can use one account on multiple computers, according to the Seti@Home site. That's one way to rack up units faster!
