BetaONE is a Family Friendly board where all people, no matter what race, religion, sexual preference, or political stance can come to discuss and seek advice regarding the latest Beta software, hardware issues, and anything else related to computers.

BetaONE also believes in Freedom of Speech.

This is why BetaONE has included a political discussion forum, to allow members to debate "Hot Button Topics" and members who enter this forum *should* expect to be confronted with controversial subjects. But members who do NOT wish to view such subjects should be able to browse the remainder of BetaONE's forums in complete comfort.

For this reason the BetaONE crew reserves the right to edit/remove any and all Avatars or Signatures/Member Titles that do not reflect our Family Friendly philosophy.

The Crew at BetaONE wishes everyone the best and we encourage debate so long as the debating does not become offensive or derogatory. Please abide by the rules, and feel free to contact any member of the BetaONE crew regarding anything you feel as questionable or objectionable, again this is a Family Friendly Board, and we are going to keep it that way.

Thanks,
The BetaONE Crew

You have all received a PM that is similar to this, please take the time to read both; respond with your feelings, comments and concerns.

just a word of causion - one should never take these debates personally :)

it's one of those good/bad things to have a debate section on a forum like this. on one hand, it's nice to have a place to debate about serious stuff and express individual views. however, you can run into a "mob" mentality where 1 person's view is strongly antagonized by a group of ppl, which can be really bad in a small community like this :)

so i'd advise the mods/admins to tell ppl becareful what they say while excercising their right of "freedom" of speech and take other's "feelings" into consideration. respect eachothers' views and don't attack anyone on a personal level with malicious words.

hehe, and that's my speech, lmao
:)

That is why we watch the political discussion forum for any signs of flaming, and deal with it right away.

And the mods certainly do deserve a big THANKS :pepsi: for keeping on top of thier sometimes thankless work and dedication.

*someone code that pepsi to look like a nice cold beer ;)

Where did this issue come up? I've never seen anyone use that forum. The only topic that i've seen is that one about the police shooting people with rubber pelets. BUt, other then that the forum seems inactive.

The forum was created just befor the recent war (All comments about said war in th Political forum please!) to fill the need for heated political/religious discussions. We didnt want that kind of thing in chit chat!

I have a funny feeling the Political forum may become MUCH more active in about 6 months.
