Can not deleted file in Recycle bin
Error:Cannot deleted m[1];Cannot find specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name. I have 7files that will not deleted I have tryed every thing. Please help! Thanks |
check in c:\recycler , or whatever other drive they were originally on and see if they are in there
if not, put something else in the recycle bin and empty it from the desktop and see if that helps |
Do you have any kind of software file protection? That might be a possibility.

The only time I ran into this type of problem with WinXP was when I had the image files mounted and tried to dump them from the trash. It was easy, unmount the image files and then you can dump them. Not sure if this is your problem, just a guess.

Yes, have add other files to the recycle bin. The files are not displayed in the recycle bin. the icon shows that the bin is still full. I try to empty the recycle bin I get the same error message. These file I deleted were from the temp IE 6.

Have you done:
1. A System Reboot 2. A System Restore |
How do you unmount a file in the recycle bin?
I have done a system reboot. But I have not done a restore. |
When I speak about a file being mounted I'm talking about a virtual CD-ROM drive. You said before the files you tried to erase were temp files, so forget what I said about an image that has been mounted. It should not be an issue here.
I would try a system RESTORE. |
If it is FAT32, you can always/usually boot with a Win 98 bootdisk and delete the file/folder with DOS.

I justed tryed system restore to 02-13-03. still the same.
File typ is NTFS |
