Since when is a font considered "critical update?"

Critical Update for Windows (KB833407)
Download size: 309 KB, < 1 minute
This item updates the Bookshelf Symbol 7 font included in some Microsoft products. The font has been found to contain unacceptable symbols. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer

:P So far I have not chosen this "critical update". I have Office 2003 and I do have this font. I don't need it, but I don't want to give it up either. ;)

lol Damn thats old news son. haha :P

But it wont hurt if u do it or not.

:) yes, I knew they were changing the new programs to not include the font. I would have expected this to be a "regular update", not a "critical update".

Also :crybaby: I am not a son :( I am a daughter ;) :P

edit: :msn4: does not = crying here :P

I think this is the "update" that removes the swastika symbols from the font, believing that it is offensive. A little too politically correct to me; before the Nazis used them they were Hindu symbols of one kind or another.

IMO, it is wrong use of language. How on earth replacing a font charactor is critical update? May be it is critical for them. ;)

mikeh420 is right, and I'm sure it's only critical for M$ to prevent them from getting sued again.

Sure you are probably correct.

If that's the case, I've just lost all my faith in the legal system...

... oh, wait, I lost all my faith in the legal system in 1998 when the DMCA was passed.... and shortly after when Napster lost in court.
