Not boring at all KC - you are part of the family and we are all concerned about our newest little girl and how you and your immediate family are coping. Next time you see the little one tell her to hang in there and that we are all pulling for her :)
Prayers and thoughts are with you :) /JD |
I wish your girlie all the best and hope that this nightmare is over soon for you and the family....keep the faith,KC!!

You guys
Today we were at the hospital at 7am and at 10am my wife had very sharp pains that lasted for 30+ minutes. She rated them as an 8 which I trust since she didn't use any meds during delivery. Her OBGYN doctor said to get checked out in the ER, after all we were already in the hospital. After four hours in the ER and a shot (M.A.S.H. style) my wife was told to go home. She has a follow-up in the ER at 11am Wednesday when we return to see Abigail. I told her she needed to slow down, but I'm just a guy. We don't know anything do we. :p As for Abigail's progress today... her x-ray looked good enough to try and feed her to see if everything passes through her ok. We will know more about that Wednesday. She did get the PIC line like we thought and the have not yet ruled out the biopsy for Hirschsprung's Disease. |
My prayers are with you and your family, KC., all my best wishes buddy.

Just got back and I have some good news and I've attached a new picture. The blanket covers up all her tubes other than the one in her nose. Today they started to feed her from a bottle, 20cc's every three hours. Both my wife and I each feed her 20cc's today and we were able to hold her in our lap.
Now we sit and wait to see if it all passes through her ok. The test results for CF should be back on Friday and if they are neg then they will do the biopsy for Hirschsprung's Disease. |
I have an odd request. I have no reason to believe that Abigail will be discharged anytime soon, but I do look forward to that day. I assume maybe this weekend or early next week, who knows because the doctors will not even give me a hint. I'd like to do something special for Abigail and also surprise my wife.
My idea... I'd like to get a newborn t-shirt that say's "I survived the NICU" with the hospital logo I have attached here. I'm open to other ideas or just a spin off of mine. Many of you are much better at graphics than I will ever be. If I had the graphic, I could either use an iron on trasfer off my printer or maybe cafepress.com Thanks in advance if anyone is interested. |
I'll pray for you all and all our thought are with your family !!
