Dunno if any of you guys have tried Direct Connect as an alternative. /http://www.neo-modus.com is the maker of the software, although there are better open source clients now, such as /http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

The main point for me about DC is that you can create your own server, independant of the main community, make it password protected and therefore be difficult to trace.

I have run a private hub for almost a year and have around 170 people logged in at any one time, share can be around 4-5tb depending on who's in. It isn't perfect, but it's a viable alternative to some of the other more traditional ways of sharing.

If anyone fancies a look at the hub, drop me an email and I'll fix up a login for you.
