Now: I used to get a new hosts file in my mail every forthnight. It came in two versions; one that blocked ads and other useless stuff like the list you presented above, and another one that also blocked 1000+ porn sites. Since a while back the mailing list is no longer maintained and my hosts file is now outdated. Is there anyone knowing of a similar service, or at least a place with good updated hosts files available for download?
Btw: Theese lists were way longer than the one in the first post here. Several kB even when zipped...

@ Uni I know that this might just be a start in the right direction but if you use Spybot S&D in the Advanced Mode it has a host file feautre that gets updated as well. I know that it probably is not nearly as big, but just a thought for you.

Thank you, downloaded, subscribed, bookmarked... I found a very good hsts file manager there (a scriptfile) that can merge the old hosts file entries with a new hosts file and removing dupes.
