In the spirit of objectivity I post the following...
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. Army is investigating reports that troops took photographs of dead Iraqis and traded them to a pornographic Web site in return for access to that site, Army sources said Wednesday. Army spokesman Paul Boyce told CNN that a preliminary investigation had found "no evidence of a felony crime," but both he and Col. Joseph Curtin said the Web postings, if verified, could constitute a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice provisions on good conduct. _http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/28/web.photos/index.html The owner of the website says he has offered FREE access to his porn site to servicemen who can prove they are SERVING active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan. It has NOTHING to do with posting DEAD BODIES! There is a *gore* section on the website but there is nothing in the story saying servicemen need to post dead peeps, only that they PROVE they are there. I haven't looked at the pictures but I have no reason to believe they are fake. There are plenty of 'sick' sites on the net and this sounds like just another one of them. At this point in time there is no PROOF supporting Mr. Dopes premise. TuBe. |
I in no way tried to justify those murders or killings. It was not even said in any way that I did, all i said was "I hope the knew Jesus before they died...."I do believe it is sad that people try to justify murder and killing, I hope the people that did this (if it really did happen and isn't a photoshop trick) are hung, I hope the dont go un punished like Pvt England did (what she got like 3 yrs? thats crap)...If it really did happen then I say Dishonorable Discharge and 25-life minimum (death sentence - max of course), I feel that all envolved should be punished.
@Dopey, You are correct that Jesus never killed anyone, however its not to say that War is sometimes necessary and with war comes sinseless killings (i would call this sinseless wouldn't you?), I stopped supporting this war the day my friend that took my place was killed on the battle field. I dont support this war, however I do support Lower Gas Prices! ;) |

PCTech - "I stopped supporting this war the day my friend that took my place was killed on the battle field." Thank you for that, I'm sure your friend (or as us Army folk call them "Battle Buddy") will look down on you and smile whenever you speak out against the ones who sent him to die. Please do your part and make sure that no other soldier meets that same fate. One last parting thought for the lot of you: Two things have doubled since the start of this war; the number of soliders who have died in Iraq (from 1000 the first year, to 2000 the next), and the price of Haliburtons' stock (from $30 to over $60 now). BTW - Say hello to Dennis and Norm and Chris, I hope they are doing well :) Hang in there man, we're all pulling for yah. /JD |
Whoops, I guess I'm late again and probably don't understand the issues, ... anyway, my thoughts: too narrow, I know, but...
Battle zones are not good places to develop theories about justice, who is right and who is wrong, etc. Troops go where they are told to go and they have been trained to follow orders. I spent 3 years in the US Army, Infantry basic with battle hardened guys who had just returned from Korea. Man, those guys left no illusions about priorities, especially for young pimply faced recruits like I was. After my 3 years serving with the 4th Armored Division in Germany, with the only trench duty being sleeping in a pup tent in the mud, while on "alert" to go to Berlin during the crisis, I re-upped into the US Air Force for 4 years cuz I liked the service, but with more reasonable living conditions and fewer brawls. Anyway, point being, look to the management not the employees. |
Would someone direct me to the "sick fuck" comment. I can't seem to find it. I could always edit it in if neccessary.

With regard to the pictures, I wouldn't know.. I have not seen any. I did try the website in any curious fashion, but wasn't interested by the timeouts.
Do I think that the military should do something to crush this website.. not really if its not visited then it will die from lack of activity. The activities trying to crush this actually serves to create jobs, correct if wrong. I do not enjoy seeing photos of unpalattable events. I don't think that website is patriotic, its stupid and null witted and and has people talking about it. If you really wanted this to die, you would ask us to delete this entire thread, so that the news of where to go to see such innane material is located. I don't mind being shown a different angle, or being correct as it may be. |
@DopeWeasel
Be calm and get some quite time alone but do NOT just quit being a member, give it some time for things to cool down, please. I have followed this entire thread from the start and even went back and reread it several times. Anytime a discusion of this type is started there will most certainly be different opinions from all sorts of people. Those different opinions are sometimes what makes us stronger in our way of thinking or will at times prove to be correct in their way of thinking. Things in this world get to us all at times, but we as the more intellegent species of this world have to have to at times get our selves away from the world so to speak (not with drugs either) and rethink the whole situation through to get a clearer understanding. Now with that being said you have mentioned somethings that can be followed up at your end as well. As you mentioned about CNN and the others (Congressmen, senators, Newspapers...local and national, local tv stations these are just a few), if they are approached correctly and in a professional way it is possible that people will look into this. You may be wondering how do I feel? Well my feelings are mine on this subject as I am not sure one way or the other if any of this is true or not as it looks although that can change. I will close with this....it really gets to me when strong language gets used in a discussion of any kind. Also I think Bible and politics should be discussed seperately as each one is complicated alone much less when combined together. I have reviewed your post for a good ways back and in my opinion as I have told others before face to face take time off and come back when all is coller and all usually will be as good as you want it to be. Thanks for reading and take care of yourself and the family. Thanks Dudelive |
