dangit, i hate this router. i'm having the same problem. trying to get a server running on my laptop but it refuses to work.
i had it working on my desktop, but i moved and moved it with me and i don't need a router there, but i left my laptop at my regular home and i need to setup a server with it. i have allowed it in the dmz, setup the port forwarding (actually just changed the ip from the desktop to the laptop since it worked when the desktop used it), have allowed ZA to let it go through. disabled ZA and it still won't go through. can anyone help? |
You have to set a new rule in ZoneAlarm ;)
Works for me |
Seeing how you've not done anything to router, changed the laptop IP (static) to old desktop IP and turned off ZA. Sounds like it may be a program setting. Can you log into your own server?

Yes I can ;)

Bads
I know you can,. you already got it figured out. |
no, i've tried connecting with cuteftp (non-passive and passive) and i can't connect.
using guildftp as the server. edit: in the router setup, what does the protocol need to be set at? right now its at TCP. |
should be able to connect to your own server ex.
192.xx.xx.xx port and user/pass |
nope, tried 192.xxx.xxx.x and my real ip, neither work.
|
Makes no sense. Should be able to connect to own server using LAN IP try IP 127.0.0.1
