>>>changing the drivers for your onboard video to standard pci graphics adapter<<<
How exactly can this be done? I tried going to the display driver properties, and than clicked 'update driver', and standard display types was NOT shown......Can u try to give more detail?? |
doh, i was thinking about windows 98 for some reason, with xp i don't think you can do this..... try just disabling the device in device manager, shutting down the pc, and installing the ati card and see what happens
|
Yep, tried that.....installed card and it froze. Never got past the boot up logo. Comp probably doesn't like the fact that 2 video cards are installed and can't decide which 2 go with, so it freezes. There's got to be a way to get this new card installed......my last resort option is to take it to the store where I purchased the card and let THEM install it for a small fee......but I'd like to exhaust ALL other options 1st...
P.s.- Why aren't you on messenger? It'd be easier for me to talk this out in real time instead of waiting for posts. |
got a new msn addy, i'll pm it to you

hey folks,
Someone told me to go with Nvidia Geforce 2 for a video card, so I took the PC to compusa and had them put that in instead. They said its a MUCH MUCH better and faster card than the ATI Raedeon card I was going to have put in. The technician guy said ATI Raedeon's are nothin but trouble anyhow..... Thanks for all of everyone's input and help. |
