Do a ln -s /usr/lib/libpng.so /usr/lib/libpng.so.2

I've downgraded to xine 0.9.8. It's all working now. But I am still haveing difficulty in playing DVD's.

Well this is because you got a pre-compiled xine which is compiled for another system try to compile xine from source and you will get no errors like that but beware xine compiling can be shitty....

Done. Can you tell me how to play DVD's. It still doesn't work.
