The war has just begun. For the moment it seems hard to discuss the topic - to much feelings involved, far to few braines used. A weekly poll while we are counting the dead and measuring the level of anxiety for the future? |
Its always a difficult subject, although in this case I have no doubts whatsoever that the US, UK, and its allies are doing the right thing.
The diplomats can attempt to settle this diplomatically for the next century - untill them and their own children will be under threat - by which time it would have been too late. There are chemical and biological weapons unaccounted for. Sadam claims they have been disposed of - but somehow I dont think he is a very trustworthy source. We are talking about the same person who murders and tortures his own civillians who dare speak out against a sick regime. Losses are inevitable, but at the moment Iraq is something that can be contained. For each additional month the military action was to be delayed, he grew stronger. In a perfect world, there would be no need for war. In this case its the only solution. |

I don't particularly like war. I abhor the loss of life, both civilian and military of any nation, religion, color or creed. Do i think that the "Coalition" are correct in what they are doing? Yes Do i support this war? Yes Do I support the soldiers fighting this war? Yes Saddam Hussain has had 12 years of diplomatic pressure and sanctions, he was supposed to have destroyed all his scuds, he's now firing the scuds he hasn't got at Kuwait. Why has Saddam issued his troops with new gas masks? Allied forces would NEVER use chemical/biological weapons in this war. Too much cloak and dagger and not enough plain old honesty |
I think the world would be a better place if we
just took all our clothes off and had an orgy safe sex of course........and the fat one is yours |

I am against this war, but with that said I totally support the troups. It's unforntunate that policies that were put in place 12 years ago were never followed, too much money was to be made Maybe if they were this wouldn't have had to happen. One can say this makes th UN totally useless, but they have a tendancy not to follow through anyway. At this point it time doesn't really matter if for or against, it's happening. It needs to be finished this time around. Going to be a lot of innocent people hurt along the way, and my prayers go out to all of them and their families.

I'm 100% for this "War". Should have happened 12 years ago. Sorry, but the UN is worthless and I don't think too many people are going to listen to what they have to say any longer. But who knows...
And I agree about the UN. If we are going to still have this UN. Anyways, no country should have supreme control over everyone else. Everyone's vote should count the same. Every Country should be able to veto. But each veto counts the same. Or no one can. That's what its all about, not a dictatorship like we have now in Iraq. Please don't get me wrong, I don't like WAR either, but it is our only choice. Saddam Hussein and the rest of the World made it our last resource by not agreeing on something to do about it. Everyone is suppose to play an equal role, but that never happened and probably never will. North Korea is just asking for it. Maybe we are not that worried about them because just maybe the CIA already has control. ;) Maybe not. Who knows. I'm sure we will just try and take him out like we have Saddam Hussein for the past 12 years. A little bullet to the head. |
