ok found one small mistake

the board was printing no cache http headers, which in plain english means nothing on the forums get cached by your browser, i disabled that so hopefully that will help too

I tried to do this when we first made the menu be hideable and couldn't get it to work, the only way I could do this would require completely reloading the frames page, and it wouldn't be dynamic like it is now :(

Adam, one potentially nasty side effect of enabling caching is that new posts may not show up depending on the client browser/proxy settings.

At home I have no problem, but I know for a fact that if I visit a page printing cache headers at school, I wont see any updates for three days or so (unless I force it to reload by using CTRL+refresh). It may not be a problem as the session ids change, causing it to reload anyway once in a while, just pointing it out so you know whats wrong if someone complains about not seeing new posts.

aah, didn't think about that.... if people start having problems with new posts not showing up then i'll cut off caching, if not then we can leave it on so the board's not as slow...
