Umm....CD's are read only. The floppy problem is more a matter of what gets written to the surface. I have had problems with CD's also from time to time. In that case it seems the Reader cannot sync properly to the directory/track(s) on the surface. When the reader hardware code retries for awhile it can lock up the reader. The only way out seems to be a power off/reset to get the reader back. The hardware/software error recovery seems rather weak for CD's.
