I would say that from the looks of things people need to have alittle more faith in the crew. Theyre listening.

when someone goes to nntp, he gets stuck to nntp and tend not to go to the betaone web.
that's something scary i know
anyway it is the way you feel
today i had my first shot in nntp
saw a lotta stuff there ;) as in allbetas lol

i will control myself not to stuck with nntp and forget betaone
still i will keep my regular visit to betaone
i know my mind is strong enaw to do that :)

I prefer it without NNTP as well :blink:

I know that there was a lot of experimenting going on earlier.
With betaone back as before has meant that at last our home is
coming back alive again.

To be honest, I have always held betaone close to my heart and
have great faith in the people that run this board. If not I would
have voted with my feet long ago....

Yes, it is great to introduce new things and inovations
and why not ?... thats how things should be....

My only question posed was that NNTP (great as it is), was driving people
away from the community, and that the sparkle that makes this forum
what it was, namly members interacting etc was dying....

I know that there are many other places on the net, I even registered at the new board run by
ex founder Origin...

To be honest...I have not been back there since....

You may ask why ???

2 Main reasons:

1. I don't have the time to jump from one forum to another..... how can You
keep proper tabs with what is happening on a community when you only
dip into now and then because you visit a thousand others ??

2. I love this community a lot and don't need to go elsewere to
get advice, help etc etc.... I have ALWAYS been able to get advice or whatever here...

loyality counts for a lot these days....
It makes or breaks a community.

A bit of advice, if you can help by donating with some pennies to keep us going please do so
(I am sure that there are a lot of members who could if they really wanted to) :D

Lets have a few more blues, if possible please....

Although, I know that some members can't donate because of their circumstances, but they
help in other ways time, advice etc, etc ...

Some of the greatest members here come from societies/ cultures where their is
great poverty and need...

By the way, I am a normal member, who likes this place and wants to see this place
succeed and go from strength to strength.... I am in nobody's pocket..

What I say comes from the heart....

I agree with you, it's member loyalty that makes this board thrive. We may not have the biggest memberbase in the world, but, in my opinion, we have a much higher quality of members than most other boards do. Spam and flaming very rarely if ever happens here. How many popular boards can say that? Not many.

That's one reason I decided to close NNTP. It was driving part of the community away. I didn't want to see that. Seeing a lot of the community leave left me with no desire at all to work on the board, so I closed NNTP. Now, with people coming back, that motivates me to work again :). I want to see this place continue to be as it once was, and I'm sure that all of the crew will agree with me.
