Now I'm sliding away a little from the first question...
I like the live discussion. One thing though - as the discussions there are not very intensive I should appreciate time stamps. Now it's a little confusing when logging in and see a "live discussion" - and after a little while you understand that this discussion is anything but live; what you read is something somebody typed an hour ago... |
That is being worked on by zone at the moment- it is planned

It should be pointed out that enforcing such a feature to be viewed by all users whether they use it or not is bad site design. In general, I think the website is great, but I personally don't like the chat window either. I have a fast system and connection, so it does little but annoy me, but still...what about people with 56K or less and a slow computer? Some people may still be using pentium 1 class computers depending on whether they are at home or at office or what ever. Having the ability to turn off the chat window [changing your preference] with a simple quick click on a button at the button bar would be really considerate.

Yes, this is very annoying, although I see the point of having it visible when the page first comes up. Also, this feature doesn't seem very useful without a time stamp or some other way to tell who is currently participating. At present it seems more like a message-in-a-bottle than "live discussion".
