This is puzzling.
Why should the speed increase because of moving from PC-DOS to MS-DOS. It seems as he used to have normal speed and now by some reason it realy slowed down. Taking "i had a lot of problems this week" into consideration is seems to me as there is something else that's malfunctioning giving theese problems. I should start with checking the involved hardware. Maybe even starting it out by stripping the box down to the necessary stuff only. |
MS DOS gives better FAT32 support and also works better with some hardware configurations.
I seen KB articles for both Ghost and Drive Image suggesting the use of MSDOS for people having problems. Also, I imagine Ghost must have put that option in for a reason. I'll agree that since it used to work fine it might be another issue, but it would be an easy thing to try. Dave |

I agree with that, and also believe MS-DOS is the defacto-standard and that one can stick to it. That way at least one possible cause of the troubles is eliminated. Also right that it's an easy thing to check. Anyway let's hope andru finds out what the cause is. (I run Ghost using MS-DOS (but booting from the harddrive with DOS at C:) as I'm no fan of PC-DOS.) |
