If you want to reformat your pC alot go ahead and use it - I have used it on numerous occasions and everytime it killed my pc making me reformat it - I know of other people who had the same prob ... It takes over the whole pc then makes it where you can't get rid of it - when you try to uninstal it you can't remove it all and it cripples your pc .. Not to mention it's a resource hog..
Just my opinion. |
I agree with .unicorn and everyone else that agrees with him... :P I used norton much in the past (both on the pc and the mac), and had a lot of issues with the computer slowing down--not speeding up. the only case where I actually utilize norton's software is in their dos software like disk doctor and disk editor... :) those are some hdd utilities that have saved my a$$ many times before... can't live with out 'em!

This year,
I have try the new Systemworks 2003 and NAV 2003 too but I don't know why but the 2003 version is much buggy than the 2002 version who was more stable ;) For the moment, I'm with some McAfee products who are better  And they are very good tools for the cleanup or registry like JV16 Power Tools and System mechanic :D My advice is stay away from Systemworks this year |
It's a lot closer to NSW2002. Not very important to update. You can be satisfied with NSW2002.

I agree with everyone else. I have used Norton Utilities and later, SystemWorks 2000 and 2002. I no longer use it after upgrading to Windows XP and will never use it again. If you are still using Windows 98, then sure use it.
I had to manually uninstall Norton Utilities a couple times because it messed up my computer which wasn't a fun thing. The only programs useful to me in the SystemWorks package was Disk Doctor and Win Doctor, but even then, it didn't speed up my computer any (at least noticeably). |
I will make it short and sweet for ya!
Norton SUCKS! |
