The suspected loss of life nearly doubled over night when the Vice President of Indonesia said he feared the total loss of life in his country was closer to 25,000 rather than the first estimate of 5000. The new count is in excess of 40,000.

This just keeps getting worse, the new estimated total loss of life is in excess of 52,000 and we are still being warned that the total may still climb.

69,000 and counting, the United Nations fear the death toll could DOUBLE it's present count if the predicted outbreaks of Cholera and other diseases break out. If you havent allready done so it would be helpfull if you could make a donation to the Disaster fund.

(CNN) -- Relief officials are working to assess the death tolls from Sunday's tsunami that killed thousands of people in at least 11 countries.


CNN has confirmed that the undersea earthquake off Sumatra and the giant waves it triggered killed 80,427 people, and that number is expected to rise.

Deaths by country:

Sri Lanka: 23,015 -- For information about local residents in Sri Lanka, call + 94 11 536 1938; for tourists the number is + 94 11 243 7061.

Z 95.3, a local radio station, announced that a bunch of locals are effected/were there.

Pray, Donate, et al. Whatever we can do, we should. :)

I saw on CTV news 10-11pm that some girl spent her $400 (CAD) savings on the Red Cross, twas going toward a new puppy..
