Yea, I've had UPS and the USPS be rough on packages too. The one from the USPS was Christmas ornaments and luckily they weren't broken, but from a collecting point of view they aren't worth as much as they should have been due to the box being in bad shape. I don't recall Fedex being that hard on boxes, a few of them haven't looked in excellent condition but have never recieved a broken item with them.

So far the best company for me in terms of delivering the items days before they were supposed to be and the boxes being in good shape is DHL (you know the yellow trucks you are seeing advertised now on tv).

I used to work at UPS at night as a boxline specialist, basically a specific region of a city would go to a predetermined box line, where then it would be sorted to an individual truck. It was common practice to repackage items that were damaged in transit and attempt to pass it off as damage from another source, when infact the most common source of damage was the box line itself. Thousands of packages travle around a metal carage at a decent rate of speed, the carigages are on a track which allows for an easy occurance of damage. Sorry this happened to you, but UPS should refund your money and make things right.

Well I have never had problems with Fed EX even. And yeah I do watch it through out the day. And if I'm not home they simply set it on my front pouch which is never touched by strangers. My two guard dogs take care of that. hehe :) Two yellow labs...lol haah

Well yeah man hope you fiugre it out and good luck.

My best story is an envelope supposed to contain important legal documents arrived. It had obviously been ripped open and taped back together. Inside was a wallet, driver's license, pictures of a baby, and a rubber, along with a lot of dirt, obviously swept off the floor. I mailed the wallet back to the guy.

Just find the humor in the situation and drive on. Things happen.

Delivery horror storys really are the pitts, let us know if u got it sorted.

Reminds me ordered a hdd from Staples and they sent me one in a partially opened box, the free sata pci card was missing.

After i spoke with their customer service rep they immediately took blame and promptly sent a replacement.

Since it took a few days before i got it, the price had changed my local compUSA had it for cheaper.
(i think 30 bucks less)
Staples went ahead and price matched so i got a discount although the box had to wait to be built due to other priority's i had going on.
My local Staples & Newegg get's my biz whenever i build a new box.

Thanks for all the responses. :)

He told me that it is policy to repackage items that have been damaged in the handling process.
largeknob, I more or less got the same story from a driver.

As it stands, I will be getting diddly from UPS. The customer service lady told me that me having to pay overnight was considered consequential damage, for which they won't be held responsible.

On the plus side. Zipzoomfly gave me a $15 store credit.
