Yes, there is a way to join two mpegs into one. I think the program is called VirtualDub, but I havent had much background with that program and couldnt walk you through the steps. But I think that is the program name, and I am sure there is a way to do it. Of course, there are lots of other programs that will do the trick too :)

Since you are using TMPGEnc, why don't you use the mpeg tools with it. You can cut, join, whatever with it. Also, a great tool I just found to rip DVD's with is DVD2SVCD. Great quality, plus you can also use TMPGEnc as the encoder for the program. Good luck with your videos.
