The UK introduced a similar project in the late 1990's. The aim was to have a publicly availible satellite view spanning the entire UK.
Unfortunatly the pictures were taken just before we had a major extension (practically rebuilt the house from scratch), so my house is barely recognisable from the old pics.

Nothing, most likely. The best imaging satellites such as the landsat have an optical resolution of about 1 metre. This means you will be unable to resolve and details smaller than 3 feet on the earth's surface. It's already an incredible accomplishment, considering light gets scattered/diffused in the atmosphere, there will always be some clouds/dust, etc. It's unlikely we will ever see more detailed satelite imagery. If you want higher resolutions you'd need images from helicopters/low flying aircraft. |
