What am I to do when I logon?
Whats the process??

What you do is setup two user accounts, log onto one, log onto the other with remote desktop and you can be doing two different things at once on the same computer. Normally, only one user can control or be logged on at a time.

Dammit. So that means the a remote users was not allowed to be logged on while the local user is logged on? :(

I am still downloading XP SP2 RC1 from dialup. I will try this once I am done. Thank you for your time.

Should or is this testing supposed to be done under the same PC or two seperate ones or does it not matter, ? also is not it true using a virtual pc it sometimes will work on the virtual but not on a standalone or networked PC?
thanks for your thoughts, jiz

Edit: I'm still trying to download an sp2 that is not corrupt...

i've downloaded 3 different ones from different sites incuding MS's and also different and the same machines (broadband) and each time while extracting the sp2, at the end of extraction, I get "file is corrupt" error meessage.

6 different times has got to be non coincedental... I cannot find anything wrong on my pc's... downloading other large files this does not happen. Been on both a fat32 sys and ntfs, XP pro VLK builds SP1. Maybe i will try again later...
lates, jiz

Finally downloaded a good sp2 rc1 file that would extract, btw, it slipped fine and I like the additions very much!

After tweaking security centre settings and reconfig of my lan all is well no speed loss or weirdness yet... ;)

To find if this registry setting work:
You usually need two PCs

Suppose: User1 and User2 are two user accounts in Computer #1

Login as User1 in Computer #1.
Enable Remote Desktop Connection in that PC (if it is not already enabled)
Do NOT logout
Go to Computer #2 and start Remote Desktop Connection in that PC
Type the Computer #1's IP address and connect as User2
Go to Computer #1 and go to Task Manager
Under Users tab, There should be two users ACTIVE.

I don't think this is what they mean by Concurrent Sessions In Xpsp2

But I could be wrong!!

ripped from other place...

Here is some kind of proof i guess... but not for XP SP2 RC1, just beta1 afaik.
concurrent is concurrent one or two boxes, no?

Quote:

If you run XP SP2 beta 1, you can enable it now, the setting taken from Windows Server 2003 enables it for winXP sp2!

Limit though is you need to be logged on as different user.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Terminal Server\Licensing Core
Create a new DWORD entry "EnableConcurrentSessions" and assign a value of 1 to it. Concurrent Sessions is now enabled.

No need to reboot!

screenshot2 - that's the one I was talking about! :)

Unfortunately, this registry fix seems not to work in RC1. I suppose they have completely removed the ability of having concurrent sessions?

FYI:
http://www.winsupersite.com/faq/xpsp2.asp
Microsoft removed the concurrent sessions feature from XP SP2, at least temporarily, and current builds do not include this feature. It remains to be seen whether concurrent sessions will be included in XP SP2.
